May was a pretty eventful month with 30 releases, which is a pretty good amount if I do say so myself. c:
I'm finally on summer break guys!! Last week's update will come out soon, I've just been busy with finishing exams and my dance recital! Lets get this summer started!
20. "Too-G" by BTL
19. "Without You Now" by Yuna Kim (ft. MFBTY)
18. "Seoul Lonely" by Phantom (ft. Gain)
17. "Not That Kind of Person" by M.Pire
16. "My Old Story" by IU
15. G.NA's "Pretty Lingerie"
G.NA is so pretty and has such a soothing voice, she can literally sing about anything and it will be well received and will be good. Although this really isn't one of her best songs, and tbh one of my least favorites, it's not terrible. I think she chose the wrong time to promote because Hyosung and Jiyeon were gonna promote, but it's fine. Idrk know what to say except this song make me want to do aegyo.
14. 15&'s "Sugar"
Man it took wayyyy too long for this song to grow on me. At first, I thought it was kind of a mess, but now I really have come to enjoy it and I like it a lot! I've always really liked them since debut in 2012. Yerin is so beautiful and Jimin has the power vocals. They are a perfect match in my opinion, even though I know they went through a bit of friendship problems early this year and last year. I'm glad to see them standing by each other.
13. Megan Lee's "8dayz" (ft. Junhyung)
To be honest, I've never heard someone in kpop sound something like Megan Lee... She has brought this new sounding voice into the kpop community and I'm really excited about her. This song is totally addictive, also because I stan Junhyung but you know, The sweet guitar melody really got me ok.
12. Junggigo's "Want U" (ft. Beenzino)
At first, I thought this song was boring.... It actually took a really long time for me to like this song... But now it's my absolute jam. Junggigo and Beenzino have angel voices. Even Beenzino's rap is perfect and soothing. And I know all the words to this song, so that means I obviously love it hahaha. The music video is simple, but it matches the simplicity of the song so it fits perfectly (-:
11. Orange Caramel's "Abing Abing"
Yes, I know this is and advertisement for Baskin Robins, but whatever. It's a nice summer song about ice cream and it is really catchy and beware, YOU WILL GET IT STUCK IN YOUR HEAD. Ok, fair warning right there. The MV is just a cute dance with ice cream and some aegyo face shots of the girls, but you know, I'm ok with that.
10. Jiyeon's "1Min 1Sec (Never Ever)"
Let me get one thing across with Jiyeon's solo debut. I think this song will help her image a lot. Jiyeon has been known to have a "bitch image", but this song is so mature and classy that wow, it make her look like she grew up. Yes, she's still one of the prettiest girls in kpop and she doesn't have the most talent of the T-ARA members, but I think that's why CCM gave her this opportunity, because now we can all see what she's capable of and it's a lot. This song is really beautiful with meaningful lyrics and a great plot to match. Plus a memorable dance, which always helps, and she did this all in a classy way. Fighting Jiyeon!
9. MR.MR's "Big Man"
MR.MR never fails to impress me or release great songs. I love how they always incorporate a melody that hasn't been used in kpop before. Their music cannot compare to anyone else and they always are consistent. Personally I believe that they are TOTALLY underrated and I don't understand why Korea hasn't totally fallen in love with them, because I did a way long time ago. Idk but I hope 2015 will be their year to shine or maybe even the fall of this year.
8. Akdong Musician's "Give Love"
Over the last few months since Akdong Musician debuted, I've become obsessed with them. Soohyun unnie becoming someone whom I want to look like and Chanhyuk oppa becoming someone I'd like to marry in the future LOL. Chanhyuk has become one of my ultimate biases and omg like ultimate type and ASDFGHJKL. I WANT TO LOVE HIM. im sorry. All of their songs are good and I loved how they used this MV to continue "200%" hehe.
7. Infinite's "Last Romeo"
At first, I really didn't know how I felt about this song... but after more listens, I've really come to like it. It really reminds me of Infinite's old style and I love it a lot. The MV is confusing (insert Eat Your Kimchi fart jokes) but the sets are really cheesy, but tbh that doesn't matter to me. The song makes up for all the things I don't like about this including Hoya, Dongwoo, and Sunggyu's hair, but what are you gonna do. I also really like the dance a lot hehe.
6. 2NE1's "Gotta Be You"
2NE1 decided to release the "Gotta Be You" MV long after everything else. Wth... I know it's promotion for Roommate or whatever but still. I love this song, but tbh this is the shittiest MV that YG has ever released. It doesn't go with the song and it is not what I was expecting at all. But I would like to thank YG for putting ripped jeans on Minzy and putting her hair in a long pony tail, because I died at that ok.
5. VIXX's "Eternity"
VIXX is one of my bias groups so this post may be extremely biased, just to warn you. VIXX makes great music, we all know that. In Korea, they are the next big thing. I asked my Korean friend who were the new "upcoming" groups that he had heard of. When I say this, it means who could be the new EXO or who is considered the group who could take that spot and become an Infinite or a SHINee one day. He said VIXX and BTS. Also Hello Venus and AOA are getting a lot of attention these days. He doesn't know who B.A.P is if you asked him though. He know Yongguk but whatever. PLUS THE BOYS LOOK GREAT IN THIS COMEBACK OUO.
4. Wheesung's "Night and Day"
Wheesung finally came back after almost three years. I waited for him to return from the military and for him to release an amazing song. WHEESUNG DIDN'T DISAPPOINT. This song is amazing. He also chose great actors if I do say so myself. TEEN TOP's C.A.P (btw I want a TEEN TOP comeback) and Girl's Day's Yura. They look good together surprisingly. Anyways, listen to this amazing song bruh.
3. Kim Yeon Woo's "Move" (ft. Kyung)
This is such a great song omg. I can't believe how underrated this song is... yeah maybe Kim Yeon Woo isn't that much known now since he was a singer in the 90's... but he is great friends with Yoo Hee Yeol so I thought maybe... But anyways, maybe it's because of his age? He's 42 and married, but his voice is absolutly amazing and this song is my hella jam. Plus Kyung from Block B is featuring in this song. The MV has a great meaning and it's really symbolic and deep if you ask me. Idk, but if you haven't yet, please watch this video. OK? OK!
2. Hyosung's "Goodnight Kiss"
Hyosung is one of ultimate female biases so this will also be very biased. She looked perfect in this MV and this song is the greatest out of G.NA's and Jiyeon's. I totally love her outfits and makeup throughout this MV and I think it was the perfect song for her. Hyosung unnie is so perfect ughghgh. I don't like it when people call her fat, because she's not. Also, it's just because she has bigger boobs than you and YOU'RE JEALOUS. ohkay bai.
1. EXO's "Overdose"
EXO is also my bias group so (SORRY FOR BEING BIASED IN THIS WHOLE POST OMG SORRY). "Overdose" is one of my favorite songs that they have ever promoted and the album also lived up to my expectations. The MV is kind of boring (except for the Tao x Kai part) but when are SM videos that interesting so. This comeback also brought the whole kpop fandom down at the release of Kris suing SM and EXO promoting as OT11 at their concert, but my point of this is that Kris can do whatever the hell he wants as long as he's happy. I hope to see EXO as OT12 again one day (:
