This last month has been really hard on everyone in Korea and in the kpop fandom. It was heart warming to see everyone coming together and praying for South Korea and see many idols groups stop promotions and hold out their comebacks til May or June. Many groups also donated TONS of money to the victims of the Ferry. Especially YG, he donated something like a million U.S. dollars or something idk. Hopefully Korea can pick itself off of the ground and continue spreading great kpop and messages over seas c:
15. "Dancing Alone" by Billion
14. "Phone" by 100%
13. "Love Game" by 2BiC
12. "Tell Me Why" by Toheart
11. "Just One Day" by BTS
10. Crayon Pop's "Uh Ee"
Crayon Pop will never disappoint me with their music, because I know not to take it seriously. Crayon Pop isn't one of those groups I'd want to show to my non-kpop friends because of this, but that's fine with me because they have enough Korean fans as it is. I often tell the opinions of my Korean guy friend, Hoyeon, who often talks about the popular kpop songs with me. His opinion was that he didn't really like this song as much as "Bar Bar Bar" because it is a little bit more annoying lololol. I don't know, I feel like this song gives me hope on life and it really lifts your spirits up c:
9. Eric Nam's "Ooh Ooh" (ft. Infinite's Hoya)
Eric Nam stole my heart a very long time ago. Right when he debuted, I knew he would become really important to me. He sincerely changed my life on January 8, 2014 at 10:21 pm when he tweeted me to smile. omg that is really creepy I'm not sorry. Yes, senpai noticed me and I cried for like two weeks straight and oh God, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Anyways, the song. The song is really catchy and Hoya is one of my ults so I was just overall happy with the MV and it has SPICA's Boa whom I also stan and U-KISS's Kevin and Busker Busker's Brad. yeah. Anyways I'm proud of Eric, he has come so far c:
8. NS Yoon-G's "Yasisi"
I've been waiting for a NS Yoon-G comeback since 2012 and I'm so glad it came and with such a good song. Damn, she really went down the sexy route, not that she wasn't hella sexy before. This song is just about straight up sex and wanted sex idk. Yoonji unnie is so pretty she doesn't need show her boobs to someone to get them to like her. All she has to do is smile that cute eye smile that she has and they'll fall in love, just like I did ha. Such a good melody though c:
7. Block B's "Jackpot"
I wish Block B would have promoted "Jackpot" because it is literally one of my favorite songs from them and omg the MV is perfect. ;-; This song will never get old to me, I know like all of the words and ugh. They are one of my bias groups and I really wish they would have promoted, but they aren't because of the Ferry stuff.... Idk this MV is utter perfection, just watch for yourself.
6. Mad Clown's "Without You" (ft. SISTAR's Hyorin)
Mad Clown is a genius. I have a list of people in the kpop industry who are just true geniuses. Jay Park, G-Dragon, Tablo, CL, Son Dam Bi, Lee Chanhyuk from AKMU... Mad Clown just absolutly fits under this list. He never fails to make meaningful and beautiful music that has opened my ears up to this style of rap that is almost like reciting poems. Paired with SISTAR's Hyorin, wow this song blows me away. Yeah, it's not as amazing as "Stupid In Love" with Soyou, but it still deserves to win awards, and I believe it did (?)
5. Crush's "Sometimes"
I've always been a big fan of Crush and I was so happy when I found out that he'd finally make his Korean debut! I'm a big fan of Lydia Paek, and he actually is really good friends with her. A lot of international fans are loving him and it's probably because he has the R&B type voice that is so soothing and matched with a great song like "Sometimes" nothing can go wrong. I often play this song when I'm riding the bus to school and it's so relaxing. It was even my song of the day on Twitter one time lolol. Plus Jay Park and Zion.T were in the MV lol.
4. Eddy Kim's "2 Years A Part" & "The Manual"
Eddy Kim is my new bae. Idk, when I heard Mystic was gonna release a male artist I got all excited because this is their second rookie this year after Puer Kim and omg. Eddy is perfect idk, he looks like an older Hansol from Seventeen. His music is so wonderful and fun to listen to c: He grew up with EXO's Suho if you need another reason to fall in love with him idk guys idk.
3. IU & HIGH4's "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms"
Let me say that HIGH4 is extremely lucky to have IU in their DEBUT song. You don't see things like that everyday. A new no name group who is doing their first song with someone as big in the business as IU. This song is really pretty, and although I wasn't extremly obsessed with it at first, it has become one of my favorite songs this year and is constantly on repeat. I really love it, and I hope HIGH4 can really get popular c:
2. Jay Park's "Metronome" (ft. Gray & Simon D)
Jay never fails to be himself. His music really sounds like something I'd hear on the radio in the States, and that's why I love him so much. His voice is on point in this song and he got a hair cut and... he is continuing his trend of having white girls in his MV's.... (i'm not complaining, I'm white lol) Jay gives me hope on life that I will find an Asian guy who will love me LOOOLL. Anyways this song is my absolute jam, guys.
1. Akdong Musician's "200%" & "Melted"
Lee Chanhyuk will be the death of me. Idk man, he's taking over my life with his dorkiness and his sister is beautiful as well. Chanhyuk has become on of my ultimate biases, and I know I said that with Lee Hi too and that faded out, BUT THIS TIME IM SERIOUS. >.< Chanhyuk oppa please love me! Their album is really good and I wish I wasn't poor so I could order it, but ugh. Everything they do is perfect ok.
