I felt that July was a very satisfying month, with many girl group comebacks.
I'm so sad that summer is in its last month though. I'm not a huge fan of school ;-;
20. "Hip Song" by Scarlet
19. "Red Lie" by Heyne
18. "Up And Down" by YE-A
17. "Ice Baby" by TINY-G
16. "Shine" by J-Min
15. Z.Hera's "D Island"
Let me just say, that I definitely looked into this MV too carefully because I saw a completely different story line then what Z.Hera herself has said. She says that it's just that she got some models to come and be in her MV and it's about friendship. Basically. But this how I first saw it. Her and the mixed girl are lesbian lovers, I say this because three men came and took them away from each other ON PURPOSE. They then put their hands around the girls as to punish them for being homosexual. Then they try to teach the girls that women must be with men, e.x. the scene where they are sitting with her at the table put she fights back and pushes the vases. It then shows the girls back together on the chair thing and the mixed girl leaves Z.Hera's side willingly as to say this is what the homophobic men wanted. IDK IDK but I think that plot is WAY better than "omg my friend is getting taken by these werewolf men" JSJSJSJS. But I've been following Z.Hera since debut and I'm in love with her and her voice and how well she dances. She's like a mini BoA I swear.
14. FIESTAR's "One More"
I was so excited when I heard they were coming back. Of course I was sad to find out that Cheska left the group, but as far as I know it was all her decision and she's happier. I think they even had a party for her send off with the fans, but this song is hella catchy and the music video has so many vibrant colors. I wish LOEN would promote them better and get them on more music programs because I feel like they never even promoted. Plus I really love their pants in this comeback because they're really shiny and omg I want them.
13. Henry's "Fantastic"
Although I wasn't as crazy about this song as I was about "Trap" and "134", I still really liked it. The music video is basically just him dancing the whole time with his back up dancers and his violin and it had Red Velvet's Seulgi is it, I bet you didn't know that! But Henry is Super Junior bae and it's just nice to see that SM actually appreciates him enough to give him another comeback and I was actually really surprised, but according to Hoyeon a lot of people in Korea like him but think he's too talented for SM... LOL.
12. NU'EST's "Good Bye Bye"
The only thing I didn't like about this MV was that the screen changes so many times that it was hard for me to focus. I loved the song tbh, but it wasn't their best. But this IS Ren's concept because omg those honey abs I was so surprised. He finally looks like a man it's wow. I really love his hair too and Aron's glasses. But idk, the MV was kind of weird and they were eating rainbow goldfish and throwing in the toilet with roses in their mouth and it just didn't make any sense and yeah. Baekho's orange hair was pretty amusing though lol.
11. B1A4's "Solo Day"
Personally, I think this is B1A4's best MV. They never disappoint in the first place, but who this MV was just beautifully shot in California and it was just amazing. Let's start by talking about how each boy got their own mini story line. Sandeul is the pizza delivery boy. Gongchan (JANE'S MAN!!!!) is a homeless boy with the most adorable dog ever who was a pretty good actor. CNU was the player who is only on a date so he can get the girls food, but actually she's cheating on her boyfriend with him. Baro is a genius who, I believe is trying to contact aliens. Lastly, Jinyoung is a video game obsessed guy who is a coach potato. And basically the whole MV is actually him playing the video game and then in the end he goes and actually gets his car ready to play the game in real life. But it was just one of their best songs and it was really popular and I'm proud of them.
10. Hyuna's "Red"
Dear people who thought this video was too sexy, you're stupid. I don't understand why some people were surprised at the amount of sexiness in this MV because what were the expecting. It's Hyuna. She's the queen of sexy, possibly the original besides Lee Hyori. She has the right to be like that, it's her style and her concept. But seriously how awkward would it be for Hyuna to do an aegyo concept or a super break it down hip hop 2ne1 thing. Exactly. Get my point now? I love the song I think it's genius even though the words are a little bit weird, but whatever I guess it's a nursery rhyme. The MV just slayed too so Idc about other's opinions.
9. Infinite's "Back"
Infinite never disappoints either tbh. Infinite has had two great comebacks this year and I could not be happier. Both songs and MVs were great and high quality. Sunggyu's voice in this song was just gorgeous, like seriously. What a pretty song matched with such a violent MV. Even though I wasn't a fan of Dongwoo's awkward hair cut, his part in this song is my favorite, and I'm pretty sure everyone agrees with me. I'm just happy that Infinite is getting some recognition this year wooooop.
8. g.o.d's "Sky Blue Promise", "Saturday Night", & "The Story of Our Lives" (ft. Megan Lee)
I've only been a kpop fan since 2011, but I can tell you that if I would have been a kpop fan in the early 2000s, I would have been a g.o.d fan. Wow, every single song was consistent and I listened to the album, and it's pretty good too. I was so impressed that I looked into them like usually I don't do that for established groups like this. "Sky Blue Promise" is so cute and wow, it brings me memories of Reply 1997 even though that was H.O.T. "Saturday Night" was such a good MV I just couldn't like wow. it's so hilarious and so well executed. Lastly, "The Story of Our Lives" had a good story line. Really, MVs like this haven't been coming out of kpop lately. Idk but I was just obsessed with this comeback.
7. JYJ's "Back Seat"
JYJ finally came back !!!!!! Idk guys, I'm a huge fan of TVXQ/JYJ and I was pretty pleased with this song. It's so sexual, hint hint I really like sexual songs WOOOOO, and it's great. Yoochun's english is hilarious, but idk the boys sounded so great and the MV was very pleasing. The dance was kind of funny, idk, but I really like Junsu's hair and idk what to say because it's so good I just no words a rambling.
6. HA:TFELT's "Ain't Nobody"
You know, I was so excited when I heard Yeeun was gonna debut as a solo artist. I wasn't surprised at her stage name either because it's been her STAGE NAME FOR YEARS NOW OK. Maybe I just knew that because I'm a Wonderful, but eh. Tbh, I didn't like this song at first, but now I'm in love. This album is so well written like wow. It's so different I've never heard anything like it before it's kind of amazing. The music video is so well filmed and edited it's so cool.
5. Block B's "HER"
I had the same feeling with the Hyuna MV with this. Why would someone say this was TOO weird. Come on guys, they're Block B! They're the definition of weird! This song is great, I play it so much omg. I'm pretty sure I know all the words. I've watched the MV so many times, but my two favorite scenes have to be Zico with the ostrich because wth creative. I'm still trying to figure out if that was a real ostrich... and the other scene was the one where U-Kwon knocks of Zico's glasses because he was trying to act cute. Idk.... can you tell I'm Zico biased?
4. SISTAR's "Touch My Body"
SISTAR never disappoints me. (I think I say that a lot). I've been a big fan of SISTAR since early 2012, when I was seriously getting into kpop. Their dances are always on point, but their super fun and easy to learn. Each member has something to bring to the table and they're extremely talented. This MV just makes me want to party and go to the beach. It's so catchy too, I had it stuck in my head yesterday. FUN FACT TIME: I laugh every time I watch the scene where Bora's in the pool because she doesn't know how to swim in real life and so I can see her being like "OMG I'M SO SCARED WHAT IF I DROWN OMG" because she'd do something adorable like that c:
3. Eddy Kim's "Darling"
I think I became obsessed with this song. I wrote an English version and I play it constantly and probably drive my whole family insane. I'm not gonna go through each sexual innuendo in this video because I don't want to do that, and I know you don't want to do that. It's pretty funny because I didn't expect something like this MV from Eddy, but it did make me fall for him a little more. I want his album soooooo bad because his music just gets me and ugh I'm in love with him.
2. f(x)'s "Red Light"
I'm pretty sure everyone ever has said this, this is f(x)'s best concept yet. Like what, SM actually put thought into an f(x) comeback and took amazing picture that actually matched the MV and album?!?! But then they screwed us over by canceling their schedule, but I'm pretty sure it's because SM's favorite, Krystal, got cast in a drama so they HAVE to make sure that happens. (NOTICE HOW I DONT BLAME RED VELVET FOR ANYTHING BC THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING) This album and MV is amazing and everyone knows that so yeah.
1. Girl's Day's "Darling"
Idk, but the first time I heard this song, I fell in love with it. It's so fun and great for summer time. It made me want to fall in love and just be happy. They look really beautiful in this MV and it's nice to see them come for "Something" which was really sexy and go to "Darling" which balanced the sexy and the cute factor. It doesn't bother me that they don't have a strong, independent women like some people want, but sometimes you just have to have groups like Girl's Day and AOA that can be pretty and make good music, even though their not gonna be strong like 2NE1 or the Wonder Girls.
