September was a quiet, but very beautiful month with a good amount of releases and meaningful songs.
15. Request - Infinite
14. U You - A Pink
13. Memory - FT Island
12. Ordinary Girl - Piggy Dolls
11. Deceive - F-VE DOLLS
10. G-Dragon's "Coup D'etat"
G-Dragon's comeback blew up the charts and he started it all off with the release of "Coup D'etat". This song came out the day before I went back to school, so coming to school I had this song in my ears and was singing it in Algebra with my best friend who is G-Dragon biased. At first I didn't totally love this song, but after awhile I found myself singing and becoming obsessed with the beautiful MV. G-Dragon is legit a genius and this album really shows that... It's really quite wonderful.
9. Block B's "Be The Light"
I tend to really love Block B's ballad/pop songs more than their title track, but for this comeback I loved both.... This song and comeback turned me into a hardcore BBC and I'm so happy because of that. I'm happy that they're back when we were all so scared that they never would be together as 7 ever again. I'm going to say what everyone says, ZICO CAN SING SO GOOD OMF. This song is one of my favorites of the whole year tbh. "Shine your light on me baby...."
MY BIAS: Zico
8. J.Y. Park's "Had Enough Parties"
JY Park released his 11th album this year along with another big announcement. The song is basically about how JY is done with partying all he wants to do is find a real love and stop wasting his life. After this song was released, a week later he announced he was getting married and we were like "oh god. he was warning us. lol" I'm really happy for JYP and the irony that Sunye got married before him bugs me... anyways, congrats JYP and thank you for this AMAZING song.
7. BTS' "N.O"
BTS is a really unique group in my opinion. They sing songs about ideas that aren't usually openly discussed in Korean culture. Maybe that's something I really like about Big Hit Entertainment, because they also have GLAM, who's debut song was discussing being open and happy with your sexuality. BTS sings about dreams, and not living through your parents expectations. A lot of people look at BTS and see hot boys, I look at BTS and see inspirations. They really are a perfect group.
MY BIAS: Rap Monster
6. Ladies Code's "Pretty Pretty"
Ladies Code will never disappoint me. All of their releases have been absolutely perfect including "Pretty Pretty". They deserve the female rookie award at this year's MAMA. I've actually learned this song singing and dancing it's really fun to dance to. I showed this MV to my brother and instead of paying attention to the girls, he was making fun of the little people who are really "partying it up." lol next time you watch this MV just watch them it's actually really hilarious.
MY BIAS: Sojung
5. KARA's "Damaged Lady"
When I was making this list I got really upset thinking about how I have to talk about this song. A few weeks ago I was riding the bus home after a long week and I look down to see a text from my best friend Jada. "NICOLE LEFT THE GROUP." I started crying so hard right then and there letting everyone stare at me... Notice that I haven't changed KARA's profile yet, I can't bare myself to do it. KARA was one of my first kpop groups ever, Nicole is one of my ultimate biases. The fact that she's leaving the group after their Japanese tour really depresses me. When this song came out I remember thinking to myself, "What if this was KARA's last MV?" and even though it's not, it sure feels like it with Jiyoung wondering whether she'll renew her contract or not as well....
I'm just hoping that the Japanese fan's petition can change something...
MY BIAS: Nicole ; #KARA5ever
4. Song Ji Eun's "False Hope"
When TS Ent released that Jieun was having another solo comeback I was running around everywhere, telling everyone. "Going Crazy" was like my jam two years ago.... And this song is like utter perfection and I might even sing it for a school talent show idk.... The MV has so much symbolism it's really beautiful and she's beautiful too. ugh. I love you Song Ji Eun.
3. Busker Busker's "Love, At First"
Idk about you, but I really really love Busker Busker. "Cherry Blossom Ending" tore up the charts last year and this year they did the same thing with "Love, At First". It's a really emotional song paired with a really emotional MV. It totally portrays the song in a beautiful way. You watch these two young people fall out of love, something everyone dreads. The song really reminded me of Wongfu Production's Break Up video, with the stages of a relationship. It's quite wonderful and the black and white bring out a lot of the feeling.
2. Drunken Tiger ft. Yoon Mi Rae & Bizzy's "The Cure"
The song speaks to me. This song is my inspiration. If I'm so depressed and suicidal I will put this song in and feel Yoon Mi Rae's voice holding me, telling me everything is going to be okay. MFBTY is a great amazing group, I love them from the bottom of my heart. Forever and ever. I envy Yoon Mi Rae's and Tiger JK's marriage. I envy Bizzy for being such great friends with them... but most of all I love how they can pick me up from the bottom of the ocean all the way up to the surface.
1. G-Dragon's "Crooked"
G-Dragon is a genius I've said it a million times, and I'll say it again. This song's lyrics are like the best thing ever and I'll forever be singing this song after a long hard day of existence and reminisce. I know every word. Every line. I connect to this song. I love this song. Everything about this song. Long live the king.
