January was a great way to start off 2014, there were so many great releases. Also, a lot of controversial MV's that got people a little stirred up.
20. "Open The Door" - Topp Dogg
19. "Age-Height" - Two Song Place
18. "Remember You" - Shannon ft. Jongkook (SPEED)
17. "Fxxk U" - Gain
16. "1999" - Koyote
15. Rain's "LA Song"
Rain made his long-awaited comeback this January with "LA Song" and "30 Sexy". To be honest, I liked "LA Song" a lot more than "30 Sexy" (which I found annoying). Rain is the king. He came back and about 80% of the comments were "WOW THE KING IS BACK". But seriously, he's gonna be 33 (?) this year. That's pretty impressive. I love him
14. Sunny Hill's "Don't Say Anything"
Sunny Hill made their first comeback with Janghyun since his release from the army. This song was amazing. I showed it to some of my friends, and they became obsessed with it omg. It was a miracle. I love Sunny Hill. Their songs are always so nice and you can sing a long to them. Although this song was on the sadder side, I still loved it.
13. Kiss&Cry's "Domino Game"
As you may know, MR.MR has some of the best songs (in my opinion) in all of kpop. So when I heard that their company was going to release a girl group I had high hopes for them. And I was NOT disappointed. "Domino Game" is freaking amazing. It has kind of a Latin feel and the girls are amazing. They has over the top amazing vocals and I'm sure they'll claim many hearts over the years.
12. Puer Kim's "Manyo Maash"
Although some people didn't really like "Manyo Maash", I absolutly fell in love with it. Even if she couldn't do as well as her label mate Lim Kim, everything will be great. I love this message of this song. Being yourself, and not changing for anyone. People not liking you and how you don't have to listen to them. I love this song with my whole heart. Saranghae Puer Kim.
11. Gary's "Shower Later" (ft. Crush)
Gary took risks in January. It was his first solo album. He is known for his Running Man image where he is fun and hilarious. No one knew that Gary had a perverted side to him. Holy shit when "Shower Later" came out, there were so many sexual innuendos. It wasn't something we usually see from kpop so I think it got people a little mad. Despite the MV and they dirty lyrics, I actually really like the song and find myself often singing it lol. I love Gary.
10. AOA's "Miniskirt"
The only thing that's sad about this concept is the fact that Seolhyun didn't get to promote it because she was injured just like when Lizzy didn't get to promote with After School this last summer. I don't know what was happening in South Korea this January. It was like they were all horny or something. Every single girl group concept was SEXY. I don't know. Some music shows got mad about it and there was a lot of slut shaming for no reason, but I still think AOA did their concept in a classy way and I don't want to hear any complaints about it.
9. Rainbow Blaxx's "Cha Cha"
I love Rainbow. I fell in love with them last year, and there was no going back. Even though I wanted a full Rainbow comeback, I accepted "Cha Cha" with all my heart. This song was my JAM. I loved it. I talked about it at school and sung it in my bedroom and just jammed out to it. I bought it on iTunes right when it came out. It's amazing.
9. Dal Shabet's "B.B.B (Big Baby Baby)"
Dal Shabet never fails to make fun dance songs that everyone can dance to. This song is so fun, at first it wasn't really my cup of tea. But when I fell for it, I fell hard. I thought the title was weird (still do) but whatever that's not the point. They all looked so amazing, from the hair to the outfits I loved it, and the album is pretty good as well yay.
7. GOT7's "Girls Girls Girls"
GOT7 ruled the world this month. They came in like a wreakkkinngggg baaaaall. Anyways, I think they have so much potential considering their album was very good and they're from JYP Entertainment. They all have really good personalities and fan bases started. "Girls Girls Girls" is a good song, even though I know they could do better. The dance was really impressive. They really remind me of 2PM in the debut days with the seven members and all.
Bias: JB & BamBam
6. TVXQ's "Something"
TVXQ really are the kings of kpop no matter what anyone says. Their songs are always consistent and even after the band lost their other three members, they still continue to be huge forces in the kpop industry and always make an impact. Cassie's should be very proud of their oppa's who have been working very hard for the past 10 years and coming back with a new album right in the beginning of the new year. Welcome back boys.
5. B1A4's "Lonely"
I really like the whole concept of the MV. The whole girl floating away thing could possibly have a deeper meaning than just leaving him. It's like he's trying to hold on to the relationship and it's so out of proportion it's like she's floating away. He looses himself in normal situations like eating and all he does is think of her. Soon he starts to float away too, and he's beginning to loose himself. I've felt this way and I absolutly love this song and MV, it makes me want to cry, but also makes me feel good inside. Plus Jinyoung looks really handsome in that sweat heh.
4. Gary's "Zotto Molla"
Gary is a true musician. He doesn't care about what people are gonna say when see what kind of music he has made. From sex to cuss words. Gary has done it all in one album. Personally, I love "Zotto Molla" more than "Shower Later" even though "Shower Later" was a master piece for the ages. "Zotto Molla" just tugs on my heart strings so hard. I love it. I love Gary too.
3. Ailee's "Singing Got Better"
I love this song from Ailee because it's about a real experience that actually happened to her before she became an idol. She even released that this song was written before "Heaven" which was released in 2012. I love this song because I can relate to it. Becoming more focused after getting out of a relationship. It's perfect.
2. SPICA's "You Don't Love Me"
SPICA is the most underrated girl group, I swear. All of their songs give them power vocals and amazing tunes. They make you sing along and feel good. After the first listen of "You Don't Love Me", I was completely head over heels in love with the whole thing. Song, dance, and MV. The 50's concept gets me. The look like 5 Lee Hyori's. I love SPICA.
Bias: idek tbh. Boa, Jiwon, Bohyung....
1. Girl's Day's "Something"
Girl's Day has made their mark in the kpop industry for the better. They have made themselves known. My Korean guy friends love Minah. Everything is well for them. I'm proud, being a fan of them since they had five members. I'm proud that their company has tried so hard to get them to this level and they did it in an amazing way. Even if they took the sexy route. I think they've made good decisions, and that's why their number one.
