I'm so satisfied with this month, it was so great. Even the songs that almost made it are so good!
This is late because I've been deathly sick I'm so sorry!
20. "Phone Number" by TAHITI
19. "Y-Shirt" by Soyul (ft. Yang Jung Mo)
18. "Cry Again" by Davichi
17. "Playground" by U-KISS
16. "Coach Me" by San E x Hyorin (ft. Jooheon)
15. 4TEN's "Why"
You see, I did like 4TEN's debut song "Tornado". I think I even have it in my iTunes somewhere. But this song just exceeded my expectations on so many levels. The MV was beautifully filmed and the song is sung really well. I love all the members too. They promoted so well and I watched them on Arirang's "Secret Box" and they were totally adorable and I fell in love with TEM because she's literally the sweetest thing ever. I have fallen head over heels for 4TEN.
Bias: Euijin & TEM
14. 1PUNCH's "Turn Me Back"
I was so surprised when I heard that Samuel had debuted (Punch). He was supposed to debut with Pledis Entertainment's Seventeen, but he left maybe at the end of 2013. And if you know me, you know I've been following Seventeen for a very long time. My friend Jane texted me and was like "hey samuel debuted" and I freaked. They are so adorable. I really loved their song and everything about their concept. Sammy is just a baby still omg. My 13 year old baby.
13. 4Minute's "Cold Rain"
I think 4Minute really needed this image change that they recently went through with "Cold Rain" and "Crazy". And although I cannot include "Crazy" because it's not from January, it just proves that 4Minute are real musicians. I'm a 4Nia, so maybe I'm just biased, but I think these girls are so special and each of them brings something to the table that you can't find in other groups. They're so unique in my opinion and I think they pulled this "ballad" concept off greatly.
12. Lizzy's "Not An Easy Girl" (ft. Jung Hyung Don)
Lizzy is my After School so no matter how this song turned out, I knew I was going to love it. And tbh, I normally find trot music to hella annoying, but I actually really like this. The concept is funny, but adds a lot of culture into it as well. I also love that Lizzy looks plain with black hair and simple makeup and she looks so gorgeous. The song is funny and it WILL get stuck in your head if you listen to it enough times ^^
11. HIGH4's "Day By Day"
HIGH4 never fails to impress me. They were one of my absolute favorite rookies of 2014 and they just keep on going. I wish this song would have got more recognition than it did because this song is damn good and I'm still playing it all the time. It was a great way to start out 2015.
10. Infinite H's "Pretty"
Infinite never fails. Whether it's a sub-unit, solo, or full group comeback, it's always good. They have the ultimate success story. Also my mom really likes this song (she hates kpop) so that just shows how good of a song this is. They are true musicians and when you watch them on stage you're just like "damn son who let you be so charismatic". The MV is totally hilarious and goes GREAT with the song and it's ugh. I'm so proud of them.
9. Mad Clown's "Fire" (ft. Jinsil)
Mad Clown is so talented. I watched his Weekly Idol episode and was so surprised to find out that he's actually SO SHY and wow. His raps are so powerful and different this is such an upbeat song compared to "Stupid In Love" and "Without You". Besides that it has perfect breakup lyrics and Hani from EXID in the MV that just makes it so sexy. (IT SHOWS EXID'S POPULARITY OMG) Jinsil's voice is so interesting too, like the whole song is just a masterpiece and the MV too!
8. G.Soul's "You"
Who the heck is G.Soul and where has he been all my life? G.Soul's voice is like the ultimate kpop fangirl's dream. He does runs every 3 seconds in "You" I swear. The song is so romantic. Goals: have my boyfriend sing "You" to me one day. I'm so serious. I'm that obsessed with this song. I don't know if there will ever be a day I won't get emotional while listening to this song. G.Soul is JYP's best kept secret in my opinion.
7. Tey's "Dangerous"
I knew this song wasn't going to do well, just because I feel like the public has something against MR.MR or something idk. I definitely don't, their music is AMAZING. This song stole my heart. Tey's hips stole my heart. He's so sexy and he owned this whole song and concept and MV. SO beyond proud of him and all the hard work he put in for this song. It's super catchy and I enjoy listening to it. MR.MR and Tey fighting!
6. GFRIEND's "Glass Bead"
GFRIEND is my rookie group of the year and it's only February. GFRIEND made such an impression on me it's kind of incredible. I don't know if it's because they're so type of Girls' Generation/A Pink hybrid or what, but I fell in love with them. Each girl is so different, just like Girls' Generation (my bias group). This song brings me back to "Into The New World" and "I Don't Know" days. I'm so excited to see where these talented young girls go. I'm definitely a fan of them.
5. Yonghwa's "Mileage" (ft. YDG), "One Fine Day", & "Checkmate" (ft. JJ Lin)
I knew that Yonghwa's solo was going to be good, just because when has Yonghwa ever done something that wasn't completely amazing? Each song is so different. "Mileage" is the comic relief song. "One Fine Day" is the beautiful ballad with the sad ass MV. "Checkmate" is the best of the three. It's half in Korean half in Mandarin. JJ Lin is hella talented too and they work so perfectly together, legit. Yonghwa is ugh.
4. Eddy Kim's "Apologize" & "My Love"
I'm completely in love with Eddy Kim. This whole comeback album is perfect. I knew since the first time I saw Eddy Kim, which was his debut song "2 Years Apart" that he was special. "Apologize" is heartbreaking and the MV is so simple and wonderful. "My Love" is a song that makes my heart melt over and over and I realize how in love I am with the thought of being in love. The MV is just so sweet and he's literally my ideal man. ;-;
3. Nine Muses' "Drama"
The queens returned this month. Nine Muses is back everyone. We lost Eunji (my bias *sobs loud sobs*), Lee Sem, and Sera, our precious babies. But we gained Sojin the goddess and Keumjo with fiery vocals. I fell in love with Hyuna in this concept, she looks hot af just saying. Nine Muses never fails to make entertaining MVs and catchy songs that I love. This was almost my number 1, consider that. I'm a MUSE 4 life.
2. Jonghyun's "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)" (ft. Iron) & "Deja-Boo" (ft. Zion.T)
Surprised that Jonghyun isn't my number 1? That's right, I decided not to be completely biased and put one of my ultimate biases as number 1, mostly because my number one is SPECIAL. Anyways, Jonghyun had the best solo debut that I've seen come out of SM so far (maybe besides Amber) BUT EVERY SONG IS A MASTERPIECE. You can tell that he's been working on this album for a few year just looking at what we got out of it. Two number 1 title tracks. That's wassup SM. Thanks for once.
1. Hello Venus' "Wiggle Wiggle"
I don't know why I love this song so much. I think it's the simplicity of it and also how easy the dance is to master. I'm not even good at learning dances, but this one was a breeze. And I don't know if I've grown to love Hello Venus so much because my friend Kyra is like their number one fan, but I just fell in love with them. They're super cute and sexy and they own the stage like I haven't seen someone do in awhile. It doesn't even matter that this MV sucks ass, just watch their asses (oops sorry for puns)
